Ramapough Mountain Indians, Inc. (RMI) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

A mission to support, preserve, and share the rich cultural heritage of the Ramapough Munsee Lenape people, who are the original Keepers of the Pass, in the Ramapough Mountains.
And goals, to Strengthen Community, Promote Education, Remember History, Practice and Embolden Tradition, Food Sovereignty, and Support Sacred Sites.

As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, all donations are tax-deductible. All resource goes to the progression of our organization and is greatly appreciated!

The Community Center building now in use was provided to the Ramapough people by the Salvation Army in …. It features a main community center room with a connected full kitchen and two bathrooms, and a tribal office space where regular business operates.
Stag Hill - ‘The Hill’ - bears a tremendous amount of memory for Ramapough people, with sacred sites and a collectively protective ancestral spirit.
The land hosts the main community center, community garden beds and fire pit, sacred boulders, a ceremonial maintained and protected area, a garage/storage shed, with an adjacent park.

RMI is located at 189 Stag Hill Rd. in Mahwah, NJ.

A sacredly protected contested land, Halifax is a ceremonial ground with critical history that lives through the hearts and the minds of Ramapough people collectively.

RMI also manages locations like Halifax Grounds.

Thankfully, it takes a community to manage these plant asset resources, for people to stand on, and for new life to be planted and to grow from!
